The Atomic knuckles
The Atomic Knuckles is a 20 minute 10 part animated series for television, with a large on-line interactive presence and aimed at 12-18 year olds, and above.
It depicts two lives in two vastly different times side by side. That of Major Alfred Lancaster, and his grandson, Jonathan Lancaster. Linking them together are not only the bond of family but the Atomic Knuckles, strange glove-like devices who's origins are shrouded in scientific and supernatural myth. The gloves were part of an entire suit designed by the enigmatic Professor Etheridge in 1937, but the suit never became fully operational until the professor's path crossed that of Major Lancaster's in 1939.
Individually the Major and Jonathan are not exceptional but when united with the gloves they create a power the limits of which seem beyond measure. This power became the main focus of the worlds most ruthless and secretive organizations at a time when the world already teetered on the edge of destruction, and in Jonathans modern disillusioned age they have lost none of their appeal.
The Special Operations Executive (S.O.E.) had barely been formed when it came into possession of the Major and the gloves, but what S.O.E. lacked in experience it made up for in ambition. They happily dabbled in the scientific, supernatural and psychic realms. No situation was too weird, no mission too dangerous. Now part of secret service mythology itself S.O.E.'s remit included alien artefacts, werewolves, trolls, the undead, bionically enhanced soldiers and giant robots. Their motive is defence of the realm, but which one, and at what cost?
But there have been set backs for S.O.E.'s almost unchecked ambition, in 1945 the Major was "lost", and though S.O.E. retained the gloves, without their master they were useless.
That was until the S.O.E. found Jonathan.
